The spark that ignited our vision for Spots On The FOX began in early 2020, during the pandemic and various shutdowns.

As small business owners, we saw an opportunity to create something great for the community & to help support small business. With Ana being a type 1 diabetic and immunocompromised, we were doing all of our shopping online and quickly realized that from a consumer standpoint, there was a serious gap for local online shopping. We wanted to create a platform that would allow customers to shop and support multiple local businesses in one easy transaction, and thus Spots On The FOX was born.

Over the rest of the year, we were able to expand on our concept & build it into a reality. Our goal was to create something that would not only support small businesses in the Fox Valley area, and surrounding communities, but also provide a unique experience & value for our local residents keeping safety in mind. With things slowly returning to a new normal, the brilliance of using Spots is focused on how convenient and simple it is to support local vendors. You can literally do a days worth of shopping in just a few minutes. We know our unique platform will outlive the pandemic, and we have very big goals in place to continue growing.

We believe that promoting our vendors is the best way to promote Spots On The FOX. We also know that we are stronger together, and being a brand new company, we need to gain the trust of the community. For this reason we are continuing to make key partnerships with influential organizations to help spread the word to local business owners and to introduce Spots to local shoppers.

We offer our vendors the most we possibly can, and work hard to create fun vendor incentives and customer giveaways to encourage the use of our platform. We cut out the middleman to ensure that our vendors get 100% of the sales paid instantly. Vendors have the ability to manage their very own storefront from their personal dashboard and can even add unlimited items. We love getting to work and grow together.

Victoria Hyla Maldonado has been writing all her life and has worked professionally as a writer and editor for more than 20 years. She is the author of the substantive women’s fiction Hearts Drawn Wyld trilogy (Victoria J. Hyla) as well as several anthology-published short stories. She also is the author of several children’s books.
