The Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes the many businesses and industries to our area. We are your voice for issues and actions affecting business and industry. We are working to Preserve the free and competitive enterprise system, promoting growth and development and making the Plainfield area a better place to live, work, worship, learn and conduct business. I would urge you to support the companies listed within these pages as they too are supporting our goals to make this area a better place.

Growth, change, research, technology, and many other factors challenge us daily to adjust our lifestyle, confront new opportunities, and meet higher demands. The Chamber is committed to track and affect economic growth, keep pace with the changes of marketing and consumer habits, and assist its members with their needs - providing programs and benefits to enhance their facility, operation, administration, and personnel, or general welfare.

The strengths and successes of this organization come from individuals within our membership who volunteer their talents and expertise to rally the forces to meet the challenges. The work and rewards of the Chamber agenda are not limited to the Board of Directors and office staff. Business representatives and employees can share the goodwill and excitement of the regular and special events sponsored by this Chamber. Networking and showcasing your business to fellow members and the public are advantages of membership and your participation in events like our Golf Outing, the Community Expo, Greeter Program, seminars and workshops, monthly luncheons and Chamber Network Nights.

About Plainfield

Downtown Plainfield is a vibrant, pedestrian-focused destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The dramatic streetscape enhancement and road reconstruction, completed in 2009, created raised intersections, mid-block pedestrian crossings, and wide sidewalks to establish a comfortable environment for pedestrians to shop and enjoy the backdrop of many of the beautifully restored historic buildings.

The expanded sidewalks provide room for restaurants to offer al fresco outdoor dining. Decorative signage and extensive landscaping complement the historic architecture and contribute to Downtown Plainfield's distinctive sense of place.
